Bola Ray

Bola Ray is one of the most influential broadcasters and media entrepreneurs in Ghana, a radio star who built one of the most listened-to shows in the country before rising to run a major media group.

Early life and education

He was born Nathan Kwabena Anokye Adisi on 1 March 1977. He attended Accra Academy and studied at the University of Ghana Business School and Central University, later earning an MBA in global business from a business school in Milan.

Radio stardom

He joined Joy FM in 2003 to host the Drive Time Show, which under his stewardship became recognised as the most influential drive-time programme on Ghanaian radio. His interviews with celebrities, politicians and business leaders made him a household name, and he became the first African to host the BBC's Top of the Pops.

Media entrepreneur

He translated his on-air success into ownership, becoming CEO of the EIB Network Group in 2014, a media conglomerate spanning radio and television stations. The move made him one of the most powerful figures in the Ghanaian media landscape.
