Early life

He was born George Kwabena Adu on 17 October 1978 in Bubuashie, Accra. His stage name reflects a dual identity: Kwabena the draughtsman and construction technician, and Kwabena the musician, two vocations he has carried side by side.

Breakthrough

He first drew notice featuring on Kontihene's 2004 hit Esi, and returned the favour on his own breakthrough single Aso. His debut album, also titled Aso, arrived in 2004, and three of its songs featured on the soundtrack of the acclaimed film The Perfect Picture, giving him national exposure.

Career
