Emelia Brobbey

Emelia Brobbey is one of Kumawood's most versatile stars, an actress, television presenter, producer and singer who built a broad entertainment career after starting out as a schoolteacher.

Early life and education

She was born on 6 January 1982 and grew up in Akyem Swedru in the Eastern Region. Highly educated, she trained as a teacher and went on to earn a diploma in journalism, a degree in human resource management and a broadcast journalism certificate, working as an agricultural science teacher in Obuasi before turning to acting.

Acting career

She began acting in 2001 and became best known for her roles in Kumawood films such as Asantewaa, Kae and Asem Asa. Her range and screen presence made her one of the leading actresses of Twi-language cinema, and she later moved into film production and television presenting.

Music and other ventures

She added a music career to her portfolio, releasing her first single Fa Me Ko in 2019 and following it with Odo Electric, showing the same versatility that has defined her work on screen.
