Joselyn Dumas

Joselyn Dumas made the unlikely journey from law to the limelight, becoming one of Ghana's most poised television hosts and a respected screen actress. Elegant and articulate, she brought a polished, cosmopolitan presence to Ghanaian entertainment.

Early life and education

She was born on 31 August 1980 and spent much of her childhood in Accra, attending Archbishop Porter Girls before continuing her studies in the United States, where she earned a degree in administrative law. She worked as a paralegal before returning home to pursue television.

Television career

Her broadcasting career took off as the host of Charterhouse's Rhythms and then Viasat 1's The One Show, which she anchored for four years, interviewing a stream of celebrities and establishing herself as one of the country's most familiar presenters.

Acting

She moved into film around 2008 with roles in Sparrow Productions titles, and became a household name in 2011 through her performance as Jennifer Adams in the series Adams Apple. Her leading role in Leila Djansi's A Northern Affair earned her Best Supporting Actress at the 2013 Ghana Movie Awards and a Best Actress nomination at the Africa Movie Academy Awards the following year.

Standing
